I need ideas on where to mount my switches for my 'bags. I don't have a center or overhead consol, so space is limited. Anyone have any suggestions or pics?

Right under the air vent in the middle of the dash. Get a plate or something made to fit in there and mount them in there. Or you could go the "playing with fire" route and get a door panel from a yukon with the 4 window switches and hook those up to your switches. Whifflebat 04-13-2003, 06:22 PM I know there is another member here that replaced his power window switches with one from a tahoe. The two in front control the windows, and the two in back control the bags. You might search it. :D :head: chevyman992002 04-13-2003, 06:23 PM Yea, thats kinda what I was thinking. And if I couldnt find a spot in the dash, I may just go with a switch box. scrapin' 04-13-2003, 08:44 PM Originally posted by Whifflebat I know there is another member here that replaced his power window switches with one from a tahoe. They work great..but you can only do FB with this setup. Unless you do FBSS with all 4 switches, then get 2 other switches for the windows and put them somewhere else. Whifflebat 04-13-2003, 08:51 PM I wonder if you could rig something up with the steering wheel radio controls? Y2KSierra 04-13-2003, 09:00 PM Originally posted by Whifflebat I wonder if you could rig something up with the steering wheel radio controls? that would rule :D but... i had them on my firebird, and i'd always bump them while turning and stuff, and my radio would change...i can't imagine this problem with bags ...driving, driving, driving, turning, PSSSSSSSSSS, oh crap!, BOOM, "better call the insurance man" Whifflebat 04-13-2003, 09:06 PM Originally posted by Y2KSierra that would rule :D but... i had them on my firebird, and i'd always bump them while turning and stuff, and my radio would change...i can't imagine this problem with bags ...driving, driving, driving, turning, PSSSSSSSSSS, oh crap!, BOOM, "better call the insurance man" True, that could be a problem...maybe if you had some electronics whiz nearby you could rig up a delay so that you had to hold down for like 3 seconds before anything would go pssst. :head: Badassilverado 04-14-2003, 12:21 AM I've got the solution for you bro. Mount the switches where the cupholders are in your '99. Before you :slap: me upside the head realize that in 01+ trucks, the cupholders moved to the bench and a plastic plate went into it's place. It's the same place I mounted my power window switches. It's cool because no one can ever find them unless it's at night then they light up. It's just a thin plate with about a 1.5'' space behind it so pretty much any switch should mount with no problem. It's not even expensive. At dealer cost the plate is $15 dollars and the cupholders are another $35 if you want them, but GMPD will have them for alot less. Sorry I don't have the PN's on hand. Here's some pics of what I'm talking about... :naughty: http://www.proidt.com/silverado/switches.jpg http://www.proidt.com/silverado/switches2.jpg 00Silverado 04-15-2003, 01:12 AM Originally posted by Badassilverado http://www.proidt.com/silverado/switches.jpg http://www.proidt.com/silverado/switches2.jpg Whats the middle switch for?
