throttle body for 96-98

quick question guys is the throttle body for a 4.3 (96-98)
the same as one for the 5.7 (96-98) ?

Probably not, I don't really know a whole lot about the 5.7L, but I believe their TBs are bigger. Don't quote me on that though.

I think you may have the same idea that I have. There have been some cheap 4.3 throttle bodies on ebay lately and I was going to get one to have it bored out if it was the same size.

so the trottle bodies in the 4.3L and the 5.7L are the same correct?

i dont know for shure , so i am going to call my dealer and see if they are the same .

They are the same size.

Your dealer will not know for they have different part numbers.

What's the difference?

1) The idle air bleed hole in the blade is a different size.

2) The 4.3's have a little larger egr deflector than the 5.0/5.7's do.

In fact, we believe the 7.4's have the same throttle body, we have a few customers who are going to check this out for us. We'll know for sure soon.
