View Full Version : throttle body for 96-98 jetmech 04-19-2003, 03:50 AM quick question guys is the throttle body for a 4.3 (96-98) the same as one for the 5.7 (96-98) ? thanx jetmech Nitsud 04-19-2003, 12:01 PM Probably not, I don't really know a whole lot about the 5.7L, but I believe their TBs are bigger. Don't quote me on that though. mattsmith467 04-19-2003, 12:10 PM yes i think that they are. im pretty sure but i might be wrong. SLMDLT1 04-19-2003, 12:23 PM I think you may have the same idea that I have. There have been some cheap 4.3 throttle bodies on ebay lately and I was going to get one to have it bored out if it was the same size. Nitsud 04-19-2003, 01:02 PM I stand corrected. :bricks: jetmech 04-20-2003, 08:31 AM thanx for the info guys and yes i was thinking of buing one off e-bay .lol oh well thats what i get for trying to be a cheap @$$ thanx jetmech :fsg: Nitsud 04-22-2003, 03:56 PM so the trottle bodies in the 4.3L and the 5.7L are the same correct? jetmech 04-23-2003, 04:43 AM i dont know for shure , so i am going to call my dealer and see if they are the same . tbiguy 04-25-2003, 02:16 PM They are the same size. Your dealer will not know for they have different part numbers. What's the difference? 1) The idle air bleed hole in the blade is a different size. 2) The 4.3's have a little larger egr deflector than the 5.0/5.7's do. In fact, we believe the 7.4's have the same throttle body, we have a few customers who are going to check this out for us. We'll know for sure soon. Hope this helps. Nitsud 04-25-2003, 03:55 PM So a performance TB will work for the 4.3L? I just to know before I purchase one. Thanks. vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
