I played around in the mud a little bit last week on the way home picking up one of my friends from school at the beach. I didnt wash it until 2 or 3 days later because the weather was bad and saw no point in washing it.

Well I had it detailed because I didnt feel like getting all the mud off myself. The detailers pressure washed it, hand rubbed it with hand mitts, dryed it, and everywhere where the mud had been, there were like dull stains in the paint. They even went over some of the spots with polish and it didnt do anything but make the paint really slick and smooth, but the stains were still there.

I washed it yesterday myself and nothing changed, what should I do? I had it painted about 2 months ago and its a gauranteed paint job, should I just have them repaint it?

Hmm, this sounds like a job for...

....the clay bar!!! :D

I think that should do it, but if not I don't know what would.

That happens alot down here in south Texas, some places have something in the mud that just ruins paint jobs and aluminum wheels. Whenever I get this on my truck, I wash it immediately. I doubt they will re-paint it for free, its not their fault, but maybe you will get lucky.

Yea actually I think it was something in the mud because i found some of the same stains on my wheels.

For some reason the stains didnt go away at first, but theyve all gone away now, i guess it just took a couple washes to get rid of it all.

Yeah usually it just takes a little time and slowly but surely it will fade away. I always try to at least wash mine as soon as I get it out of the mud, rain or shine. Then I'll detail it later when I have more time.

I hit the carwash on the way home to knock the crud off before it dries. Might not really wash it for a few days, but the big globs of mud usually come off easier when still wet. Besides, I'd rather leave tons of mud at the car wash than my driveway! And yes, I do at least spray it to the drains so the street trucks don't have to drag through it. I used to be the one cussing all the 4x's for screwing up the wash stalls, my old trucks were all allergic to mud (dropped on 20's), now I'm doing it. lol
