I just bought an 89 Chevy K1500 with bucket seats. The seats are pretty much trashed, they definately need replaced. I was looking online at differant racing seats, I like the way they look and feel. Does anyone know which brand/model will fit in my 89? And how do I mount them? I still need to be able to use the stock seat belts and want to keep the center console. The drivers seat still needs to be adjustable, its a stick and sometimes I gotta move the seat up a little to work the clutch better :-) Also, where is a good place for after market carpet, headliners, dash pieces, etc. Thanks guys!

You may wanna send 1badgmc a PM unless he answers here. He's got a set of recaro seats in his 91 and he's still using the stock belts. I am not sure if the seats come with adapters to mount to the stock holes BUT if you need to drill new holes it very easy to mount them.

Shouldn't take much to get them in there.

I took my seats to a friend of mine who is a fabricator and had him build me some custom mounts for my Recaros. We drilled new holes in the floor for them too, but since you already have factory buckets, that may not be neccessary.

alot of older rice grinders came with recaro or racing styled seats. I got mine out of suzuki swift and I have yet to mount them but with some work the brackets that you have will work on the seats. The holes are already there on mine. :D

How do you guys make your brackets?I had my buckets mounted to my benches bracket, but it was too high, so I set them on the floor, that was too low
Now my truck is stuck seatless.
