I just came across this site and figured I'd register and say hi. I've owned a few GM trucks including a '99 Silverado, supercharged '01 Suburban and am currently working on a 8.1 Suburban. This truck will is used as a daily driver and tow vehicle but of course it will have to make a few trips down the 1/4. Planned performance mods are - Volant induction feeding air to a Whipple supercharger. They will also have an intercooler available for this kit in the next few weeks and that will be going on too. A set of The Other Guys long tube headers will replace the stock manifolds but the catback will remain stock. Why a stock catback? Most of the vehicles that I own have a complete aftermarket exhaust so I like to drive something quiet once in awhile (especially while towing).
I installed an HD Silverado hood, grill and bumper to give the truck a more aggressive look. Also had the bottom painted pewter (2 tone isn't available on the Suburban). HID high and low beams and a set of PIAA driving lights will brighten things up a little and a set of 20" wheels will finish the outside.
Interior mods include replacing the factory deck with a Pioneer 7300 CD/DVD player, 12 disk changer in the center console storage compartment, satellite radio receiver, Alpine monitors behind the front headrests, X Box for game playing and a Pioneer switching system mounted where the factory rear seat radio controls used to be. This allows the radio graphics to be displayed up front while one person is watching a DVD in the back and someone else can be on the X-Box (this can be done in any variation or all screens can show the same picture). I'll have pictures of this system installed next week.
