MrRodIt 05-11-2003, 12:03 AM Zaino doesn't suck but there is better waxes/sealants out there I'm remember the first time I used Zaino on my old truck I wasn't blown away but after I put like 3 or 4 coats on I loved it so try a couple more coats so try again so you didn't waste your $75 07 Hoe 05-11-2003, 02:06 AM Originally posted by daves97 After you spend over $75 on zaino of course you think its going to shine good.Save your money! :banhim:, just kidding :D I like Zaino. 02Silverado 05-11-2003, 02:20 AM Originally posted by daves97 After you spend over $75 on zaino of course you think its going to shine good.Save your money! Zymol is not that good. It doesnt last very long at all. Klasse on the other hand is good. I have 2 coats of Klasse on there and then half the hood has a coat of a different Klasse product. I am in the middle of doing a product test. melncal 05-11-2003, 07:59 PM Originally posted by daves97 After you spend over $75 on zaino of course you think its going to shine good.Save your money! What kind of condition was the paint in before you applied Zaino? If there was alot of swirls, scratches and oxidization then Zaino will do very little for your paint. You'll end up with a smooth, slightly shinier, swirled, scratched and oxidized finish. Zaino is non abrasive so it won't get rid of swirls, scratches & oxidization. Now Z5 has some fillers to hide minor swirls and scratches but it's non abrasive so it won't remove them. It's not a miracle product, I don't know of anything out there that is, it's just a good polymer sealant. I think Zaino works great and is very durable. The key is to prep you paint by removing: contaminates - Clay bar oxidation, swirls and minor scratches - paint cleanser/swirl mark remover or something stronger. before you add any sealant or wax for the best, reflective finish. Here in my truck after using a swirl remover, glaze & carnauba wax. http://users.ca.astound.net/cal0828/temp/5-06_01.jpg If you look at the bumper you can see the swirls I didn't remove http://users.ca.astound.net/cal0828/temp/5-06_06.jpg http://users.ca.astound.net/cal0828/temp/5-06_05.jpg http://users.ca.astound.net/cal0828/temp/5-06_03.jpg Jokeman 05-11-2003, 08:10 PM Wash and Wax, two words I hate:read: :smokin: scrapin' 05-11-2003, 08:19 PM What parts if the system did you get and how much did you use....I'll take it off your hands. :D Joe 05-11-2003, 09:23 PM Originally posted by melncal Here in my truck after using a swirl remover, glaze & carnauba wax. melncal, those pics are badass  Nice Black Yukon :D Joe Dirt 05-12-2003, 12:26 AM Originally posted by gmcjoe melncal, those pics are badass  Nice Black Yukon :D :word: Those pics are badass. SyckShyt 05-12-2003, 12:52 AM Originally posted by melncal What kind of condition was the paint in before you applied Zaino? It makes my white truck look like a mirror. It's all in the base coat. If your paint doesn't look good before Zaino it won' tlook good after. I'm going to be doing a complete color sand and buff on my truck one of these days, and when I do, pics will be posted. I'll show u guys just how good white can look. How is it done?:dunce: 454SuperSport 05-20-2003, 01:22 AM hey melncal, that is one sick looking yukon! what in the hell do you use?? i myself own a black truck and have a hard time keeping it clean but mine never looks that good. give me some details like what swirl remover and whatnot. melncal 05-22-2003, 04:54 PM Originally posted by 454SuperSport hey melncal, that is one sick looking yukon! what in the hell do you use?? i myself own a black truck and have a hard time keeping it clean but mine never looks that good. give me some details like what swirl remover and whatnot. Thanks! I used 3M SMR followed by Clearkote Vanilla Moose (both applied with a Porter cable random orbital polisher), S100 Carnuaba wax and finished with Quickshine detailing spray. Any swirl remover will work you just need to make sure to break down the abrasives so you don't get any hazing. If you plan to do it by hand Meguiars #9 followed by #7 work pretty good. 3m products are a PITA to breakdown by hand. Now these work good for light swirls and scratches you might need something a little more aggressive like Meguiars Dual action paint cleaner, for deeper ones. As far as keeping it clean a quick dust with a California duster and quick detailer if needed. I usually go about 2- 3 weeks before I have to wash it and usually because the kids make a mess on the inside. Good luck vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
