About 3 or 4 months ago when I installed my Hotchkis suspension I torqued the rear leafs and everything else BEFORE I dropped the car on its wheels.

I later noticed that the install directions said to torque the springs and specifically leafs AFTER the car was lowered onto its wheels.

My truck drives great except for some squeaks from the rear leafs, something I have heard can be fixed with graphite powder or lots of WD40.

Does ANYONE know what COULD happen since I didnt torque the springs AFTER I dropped the truck to the ground? I know nothing too serious but I want to know WHY they instruct you to do that.

thanks for any info! :D

You'll pre-load the bushings causing them to make noise. Simple fix...loosen all the bolts back up and then tighten them w/ the weight of the truck resting on them.

Thanks for the info!

I was thinking that re torquing the springs MAY fix the squeaking BUT I wasnt sure and didnt want to go through the whole process for nothing!

what kinda grease should I use? WOuld I need to grease the bushings externally? I dont think the bushings have take grease internally, do they?
