No sound from my DVD player

Ok,
I'm almost complete with my system just a few things left, like installation of the alarm and so on. Anyways I blew my fuse once I got my truck back about 2 weeks ago but that got fixed right away. But a problem that still hasn't been fixed is the audio on my dvd player. I have a Pioneer AVIC90 which is dvd navigation and a dvd player as well. For a screen I purchased the Pioneer AVD-W8000. It plays the DVDs and everything but there is no sound. Do I need an AV Receiver so I can get sound from my speakers in the truck? Or does my installer not know what he's doing? I asked him about it. And he said that the reason its not working is beacuse the type of screen that I got isn't really suppose to go with the AVIC90. He told me to call up Pioneer but I wanted to ask here first. did you happen to bypass the ebrake wire....i did an install on a bmw for dvd player and some screens, and the only thing that worked for some reason was the cd/mp3 player portion, i was getting all frustrated trying to figure it out and pulled the brake to get out, and it came on all of the sudden, so we looked in the wiring and bypassed it...sort of illegal, but hey not my ride, and i'm not a professional installer by far. it took us like 3 hours to figure out how to get it to work, but we finally got it...not saying this is your problem, just saying....try not to over look the little things :read:
