Iceman357 06-07-2003, 06:55 PM A few people have used Brown Bread or B-Quiet material. It is basically the same stuff as Dynamat, just a bit cheaper. Do a search for one of these, and you will find all sorts of info. 97OKCZ71 06-08-2003, 11:38 PM I just order like 200 square feet of sound deadener from B-Quiet so it should be in tommorrow I believe and I am installing it next week. I am gonna give some kinna review of application ease and so forth in the interior section, but since I have never experienced Dynamat I wont be able to compare it to Dynomat. Supposedly the stuff is better all the way around. Deadens more range of sound, withstands higher and lower heats and the biggest thing is that it is a little thinner than Dynamat. It also weighs a bit less. They have a Volvo on there that holds the 2002 USACi World Champion title. So I suppose its gotta be pretty good. DSZ71 06-09-2003, 12:56 PM There is also a brand named Fat-Mat that has received very high reviews. Ebay has it for fairly cheap prices. r6z4o6 06-09-2003, 03:15 PM Originally posted by 97OKCZ71 I just order like 200 square feet of sound deadener  What are you gonna cover??? How much do you think it would take to cover the floor of an x-cab, one layer?? I've been driving around with no carpet in my truck the past week, and the floor gets VERY VERY HOT(like burn yo-a$$ hot)!!! That can't be good for my speaker wires, or for comfortable cabin temperatures. I think one layer of Brown-Bread or whatever would be good, but i had no idea how expensive that stuff is mood_indigo 06-09-2003, 03:20 PM there's a few guys on car audio forums talking about second skin (http://www.secondskinaudio.com/) DemoN 06-09-2003, 03:30 PM Originally posted by mood_indigo there's a few guys on car audio forums talking about second skin (http://www.secondskinaudio.com/) 2 times now.:read: 97OKCZ71 06-09-2003, 06:13 PM I am covering my whole truck in two layers. Walls, all three doors, and maybe even roof. Anyways I doubt I will use all of it but I will put it in some other vehicles around here if I have some left. I actually have a 97 extended cab and I measured it off... you could probably do the whole truck easily with 100 feet. If you will keep an eye on the interior section I should be posting some pics and talking about the products a bit myself there. Should be just 2 weeks or so.... with plenty of pictures... Barely even with a single layer. It'll take every bit of your 200 to do a double and thats leaving out the roof. :read: 97OKCZ71 06-09-2003, 09:21 PM You think so? You might be right... I got a very rough measurement across the cab at around 70 inches... so almost 6 feet... then length at like 90 I think. So say 8 feet... so like 50 square feet of just the flooring all the up the back wall to the window. Then the doors I didnt measure at all but I figure another 35-40 or so. I figured there would be enough to do everything in one layer with 100 feet and a little to spare. I dont think I will do everything in two layers. Just doors and front area in the second layer. I guess we will see, but now that I break it down a bit you could quite possibly be right. There is a TON of it here though. 4 boxes full. Jeremy Disclaimer... Never done it before so I could just be full of the poo. Nick 06-09-2003, 09:26 PM Originally posted by 97OKCZ71 You think so? You might be right... I have a single layer on the floor, double on the back wall, double on the outer door skins, single on the inner door skin and none on the ceiling. Took 142 sq ft for that. :D 97OKCZ71 06-09-2003, 09:48 PM Well, I guess you would know what you are talking about then... hehe. Well now I am glad I ordered so much. How much did you end up spending on all that. I see at least some of it is Dynomat. Jeremy Nick 06-09-2003, 10:03 PM 70 sq ft Brown Bread $150 72 sq ft Dynamat Extreme $250 Iceman357 06-09-2003, 10:14 PM I did my truck with Dynamat Extreme. I got it for around $128 a box (36 sq ft) at sounddomain.com. They priced matched it for me from ikesound. I got 3 boxes so about 108 sq ft. I put a single layer on the 3 doors (inner and outer skins), back wall, and the floor with a double layer right underneath where my subs fire. I used every bit of it I had. I didn't do the roof, and I am not sure if I am going too. I am very pleased with the sound of things so far, but who knows. And listen to what Nick has to say about this..he knows what he is talking about! This is how I decided on what to do for my own truck. :D 97OKCZ71 06-09-2003, 10:23 PM Sweet I just got the Xtreme stuff from B-Quiet. 200 square feet for $250. Supposedly its just as good or better then the Dynamat. We will see I guess. Jeremy vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
