1200 watt amp questions

I just bought a Boss Audio 1200 watt 2 channel amp and a pair of Infinity 12" subs. Do I need a bigger alternator to run the amp or is a capacitor good enough? A friend of mine says a capacitor will be fine but I want some extra opinions. Thanks

My MTX pushes like 1150 watts rms and im running a second battery and a capacitor and planning on up grading my alternator here soon

You should install the amp first then run it to see if you even need a new battery or cap...because you can always upgrade to one of those if need be without a problem, good luck with the set up:D

I have a 1200 watt audiobahn A1300HC, and ran just one 1 farad capacitor. But now I have a 220 alternator, but only got that because I will be bagging my truck soon, and the two electric compressors will be putting a strain on the electrical system.
