Hey guys, I just bought my wife a 2000 Ext Cab Z71 and am having a box built for (2) 12's under the back seat. My question is this, where the heck am I gonna put the amp?!? I'm going to get either a Rockford Fosgate Punch 500a2 (If I can find one on Ebay) or a JL Audio 500.1 to push the (2) JL Audio 12W0's. I thought about under one of the front seats, but they are both power seats and there's not enough room, any other place I'm not thinking of?? Thanks! :D:D

is their room behind the back seat against the wall?
or does that piece not move

i wish i could see what the space looks like. where are the subs going? one on each side of the back seat, can you put an amp in the middle over the tranny hump?

Well, it looks almost exactly like this box, but a local shop is building the box for me this week...

So there's not really much choice, I'm gonna have to mount the amp on the outside...

Mauro, you can mount it on the back wall. PM nick99chevy, he can show you his pics of the way his is mounted, and he has a box like the one you're having built.

I can't get the backseat to fold down, is there a trick to it?

ya, if you dont wanna mount it to the back wall, why not just cut out the middle of that box and put it between the subs?

Mauro - you ahve to take the rear seat out to acess the back wall. There are 4 nuts securing the seat to the floor, take them off and the seat will come out. you have to pick it straight up - there are clips on the back of the seat which clip into he back wall (keeps the back of the seat from flopping forward).

isn't the 500/1 a little much for 2 12w0's? It'll be giving them twice their RMS of 125watts. Very nice amp though, I'm getting one :naughty:

Well I ended up getting a Rockford Fosgate 500S off of ebay to run them, so we'll see.....:D I had a 500a2 going to (2) 12W0's in my 97 and that sounded awesome, so I'm hoping to have the same effect here...:D Of course its not gonna beat the 500a2 pushing the (4) 12W0's I have in my Hoe :D:D:D:D

If your gonna take the seat out, you might as well cut about an inch off the back hooks. That way you'll be able to access the amp/s without having to take the seat out every time. The back seat will fold down when lifted the bottom is lifted up. I would post a pic of how to do it, but a 1 byte picture would be pretty small. That reminds me, Is there any way to get around that? Obviously, some of you guys are allowed to post pics bigger than one byte.
