i was just looking throught TRUCKIN magazine and i noticed how this guy with a low and awesome truck had his door panels sanded and painted i thought it looked awesome having it smooth like that has any one ever sanded their dash and door panels like this i am interested on how to do it:fsg:

:word: i'm interested in this too, i know the dash is hard because you have to take it off, but for the door panels would it just be wet sanding and painting?

If you plan to sand it down, be sure and have some power tools. Doing it by hand would kill you. I have no power tools :( so I sanded it some and then filled it with filler. Another idea is to sand it down some and then have some thick automotive primer sprayed on it. Sand it again until you get it where you want it. Then prep it and paint it.

I've done the dash bezel on mine as well.. I did it by hand, but I'm a fanatic and sanded till the sucker was smooooth.. Took a couple days and I think I could see bone on my fingers.. don't recommend it, and I still think I missed some spots :(

But it looks good.. Don't have any pics with me, I'm in West Virginia on business right now...

Mine was painted by a bodyshop and he just used the same paint he used on the outside of my truck.

Can't remember the name of the stuff I used. I bought it at O'Reily's auto parts here in Universal City.
