Hi guys!
Just picked up an 01 Silverado Z71.
This is my first Full Size, I have had mainly S-Series trucks.
Last year I bought a 5.9 RT Dakota to tow my Typhoon and I was just all around disappointed with everything Dodge.
From the sales, the service and the truck itself, all suck.
Being a GM guy I just took the plunge and went full size.
Its worth the extra size to be able to tow with some confidence and go off road when need be.
Actually the 5.3L is getting better gas mileage than the 5.9L did, and there is no comparison in driving the 2.
The Dodge was stiff, rattled, shifted like @$$, had nothing but problems with suspension and trans. Sporty and useless.
This Silverado rides like a caddy, full time 4x4, leather int, 10 way heated power seats, tows 8000#s, 4 doors, etc etc.
I am already shopping for some mods: Cat back, cold air intake, clear corners, possibly a set of alum wheels/bigger tires.
I'll do some searching on what tires fit stock suspension before I go asking all the newbiw questions. ;)
Hope to learn a lot here and not step on any toes.
