true vs. fake duels

okay i am going to get a magnaflow muffler(s) but dont know which to get i wanted dual side exits like on oppisite sides but dont know if its worth to get 2 mufflers or just one then have 2 coming out of it this is the cat system i am getting http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CTO%2D9333 whats the performance difference? not much? i might just go for the stock looking single side exit....any ideas on a muffler(s) to get im looking for a nice deep sound doesnt need to be abnoxiously loud but something that sounds good on 5.7 96 2dr tahoe. so many choices i dont know which shape or size thanks for your help. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product.htm doesnt need to be shiney

Since you have dual pipes coming from the cats...I'd get magnaflows dual in/dual out muffler. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/universal/oval.htm Just scroll to the bottom of the page.

If you don't want it as loud go with a dual in/single out muffler like this one.

Are you still thinking aobut exiting before the rear wheels? If so get a pair of 90 degree mandrel bent pipes so your system won't have any kinks in the bends. I don't know what size the pipes are from your cats, but I'd guess 2.5"

I'd double check all of this with a muffler shop before ordering. At least that's what I did with mine.

i had my entire exhaust sawed off on the "2 pipe" side of the Y, and had new pipe run all the way down for true duals. i have 2 flowmaster 40s (original, not delta flow). they are pretty damn loud when i really romp the throttle, but completly acceptable for road trips and i can navigate my apartment complex with what i feel is low enough sound not to wake up my neighbors (well, im pretty much coasting :) ).

my old college roommate has a 96 5.7 vortec, and he has thrush turbo tubes. they soud freakin awesome too.

ive found the dual in out magnaflows for like 80something $ and do u think itd be cheaper to order the pipes my self or just to have the shop charge me for what they use themselves
