EBAY LINK (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2421830844)
Brand new in the box GM nickle plated slip yoke with u-joint. This part fits new body style Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra 99-02 1500 and SUV's. Get rid of that clunk in your driveshaft at take off with this slip yoke. This is a hard to find part that GM developed to eliminate the driveshaft rearend clunk. This part is brand new, never been used.

BTW....The blue is just a slip-on protective foam cover (came that way from GM)
Damn, none of you "clunk" guys want this solution to your problems

I am just trying to figure out why you have and why you didn't install it.

Oh okay, well I have a freind at a dealership in Ohio, so I bought 2 of them, one to use on my truck and one to sell. However so far, looks like it was a bad idea. This may end up being an expensive boat anchor if it doesnt sell :( :bawl:
You guys can trust me, I have a perfect ebay record, plus this is a brand new GM part...never used. Heck even if you just wanted to replace your u-joints it would be a good idea to go ahead and get the revised slip-yoke which includes a new u-joint installed.

What is the part number on that? Do you know if it is only for extended cabs or will it fit reg cabs to. Yokes should all the the same length right?

Yup, my truck is at the dealership right now and they are just going to pack it with grease to make it go away for as long as possible. Service manager said the engineers told them that they haven't found any sure fix for the problem.

Ya, I just greased mine up for a temporary fix. Seemed to soften it up a little. I havent gone for a long ride with it yet so it is hard to tell if it made a huge difference or not.

hmm since this is caused basically by the diff rotating up under acceleration, wouldnt a set of trac/ladder bars cure this?? Anybody with bars notice the clunk go away???

I never had the clunk when I had the trac-bars on. I got the dual shock set-up like Y2KZ71 so I removed the trac-bars, and the clunk was back shortly after.:bawl:
Sadly enough I had to purchase the slip yoke, I had allready exceeded my warranty by the time they came out with the solution. I ordered these last week and just got these in the mail on Monday. I havent installed my other one yet to see if the problem went away. I bet this part works, but may not for lifted trucks with the pinion angle. Also it could be that our driveshafts have actually pulled-out of the tranny some and thats contributing to the problem.
SportyShorty, this fits any 1500 Silverado truck.

Do you still have the clunk with your all spring set-up?
I was just wondering if its only us block guys with the axle wrap that have this.

No actually I dont. Before the truck was lifted, I did notice the clunk at times when coming to a stop and then immediatly acclerating away. At that time I notified the service manager who suggested the new yoke but they were on b/o for months. Went ahead and lifted the truck and I can't say that I've experienced the clunk since. Since they have it on record, I'm good if I want it changed out down the road.

Thanks.
If you notice who all comented in this thread about the clunk..Hulk, Vhato and myself...all have the original springs with blocks. I think it has more to do with axle wrap now if they have the new slip yoke installed.
I remember they were back ordered, thats why I ordered an extra one. I figured someone else in my situation would need one. Oh well, guess I will lower the price.
