I was just wondering if anyone had ever performed a bodydrop by replacing the 3" tall bracing that runs across the bed with some smaller box tubing? Seems like it would be an easy way to get a little lower without cutting all the way around it for a normal bodydrop. Just another idea......lemme know what ya think

Not a good idea. First of all if you plan on actually putting any weight in the bed you'll have no structural support between the framerails. Secondyly how are you going to bolt the bed down once you remove the cross braces? :D
He said he was going to replace it with smaller box tube jackarse!

aight we know 5-8 cant read but what does everyone think of the body drop idea? The braces are a good 3" tall. I think that I might end up raising it anyways just so I can clear my fuel cell but it seems like a feasable way to drop it.

The bedbrace idea is going to be more work than it's worth IMO.:read:

ok I just figured Id see what everyone thought, id imagine it would be a PITA to get it all aligned again but I think it would look better because you wouldnt have that big step by the tailgate. Its something ill look into more when I get to that point:read:
