OK, so I'm considering a Borla single-in split rear-out, or a Gibson single-in-out side swept (stainless) for a 2K Tahoe 4WD (5.3L). The thing is, I tow a 3800lb boat weekly, and have been told you get more pulling torque from a sinlge in-out than a split. So, single Gibson seems to be the best bet. But, I really like the styling of the Borla split rear, plus I'm getting a killer price ($460). I think the Gibson is like $420. I don't really know how much torque we are talking about between the 2, but if it's negligible, I just assume go for the Borla. I mean, if the Borla torque is better than stock, then I'm happy. TIA for any input...

Yup what he said. I think they are normally 800. Quadcab4x4 has one on his truck and he seems to like it a lot.:D

If you like the Borla get it. But if you want performance go with the single in single out the rumor is true. Personal experiance. Hope this helps :drunk:

Truckperformance.com. They are overstocked right now on the split Borla, so they have a clearance price, plus I've got a 5% discount from my order last month. Don't know if they are overstocked on all Borla, or just that particular app for my truck - I'm thinking it may just be the Tahoe/Yukon setup - I punched in Silverado, and didn't see the same price.

I doubt it, especially if you're talking about an extended cab. Plus, the rear suspension is different (coils vs. leaf), so the hangers may be in different places. Also, at borla.com you get different part numbers for Tahoe vs. a 1500 truck. You can call truckperformance and see - they are pretty helpful on the phone.

Thanks, I didn't know about the suspension difference, but I did figure out that they have different part #'s on the Borla site. Now I am in the dilema too. I can get a Gibson SS for $400 from a local place, but the borla dual side exit's look good for $500 though????

hey I am new to this posting thing so don't get mad if it is wrong. I have a Borla on my '98 and it is OK but in full droop of the rear suspention it hits. I don't think it will worl on a lifted truck either.

I'm only dropped 2" in the rear, so I don't anticipate a problem with the space. If you go read quadcab4x4's Boral post under Product Reviews, you'll see that he installed the split rear system on a lifted truck no problem, but did do some adjustments because of the lift.

BTW, I talked to Borla today about the power difference between single-in-out, and sinlge-in split-out, and they said there is no difference, at least comparing 2 Borla systems. Not sure how it would compare to Gibson. Anyways, went ahead and ordered the Borla today - 5 bills to my door.
