I got my GF some Zaino products for her B-Day, and we did the first coat last weekend. Looks great, and I can't wait to do another one. It's so easy to do.

I also did my truck with it's 9 year old paint. Wow.

It was nearly dark when we finished, but I took some pics that didn't do it justice. I'll try to take some better ones next time we wash it.

We washed with Dawn, and used the polish lok and Z-5. The rest of the coats will be done with Z-2 since it is a brand new paint job. We skipped the claybar this time. It didn't need it.

AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!>.................. Dont wash your ride with dawn - Unless she's a hottie friend of your girlfriends'...........:naughty:

Dishwashing liquid will actually stip the wax/polish from the finish - use a soap formulated for car finishes

That's the idea. The directions explicitly call for a wax/grease removing wash with Dawn (liquid dish detergent). The rest of the time the truck gets washed with Meguiars Soft Wash. That stuff kicks.

Zaino! That stuff smells so good, you could almost drink it! Love the smell of that Z6!

I learned about Zaino a year ago from the Corvetteforum.com when I bought mine... Here are a few tips that I've learned.

Z1 is the pre-wax cleaner, Z2 is the actual Zaino Polish. Z6 is the after wax gloss enhancer. Z1,2 and 6 are the minimal products you need to order.

Optional, Z5 is the swirl remover and the clay bar is pretty much self explanatory.

Yes the directions recommend washing with Dawn. Apply Z1 and leave it on. Then apply Z2 over the Z1. Zaino is an "optically engineered" polish, that means that it can actually make the car look shinier through its relfective properties... Zaino recommends that you NEVER apply car polishes in a circular motion, that just creats swirl marks. Apply the Zaino to the hood, roof, and trunk areas in a front to back application (meaning bumper to bumper). The sides of the vehicle, you apply the Zaino in an up down application... this alone will help enhance the shine.

Because Zaino is a petroleum based polish, it doesnt evaporate and dry as quickly as other waxes... Zaino recommends that you apply the first coat of wax and let it dry over night before removing... then the next day, remove it and apply a second coat and let that sit for 2-3 hours before removing.

The Z-6 gloss enhancer is a non-aerosol spray bottle... simply spray a light mist upon a small section and wipe dry.

Zaino is also engineered to have a neutral charge... that means that it doesnt create a magnetic/electrical charge which attracts and holds dust... the inevitable dust that will fall upon the surfaces of your car will blow off when driving.

Sheesh! Did that sound like a commercial to you to?

Anyway, I dont work for Zaino but do think their products are top notch... give 'em a try... the basic Z1, Z2 and Z6 will cost you a little over $30 bones to get started...

I've been using Zaino for a little over a year now, best stuff I've ever used. I have to reorder some though, I'm running low. Better get the ZFX so I won't have to wait 910 hours before removing it  :D Zaino always made my Z28 shine like crazy, heres a couple pics(middle pic is best)

I only had enough Zaino and time to put 1 coat on my truck before winter :( Good stuff, if some of you have never used it I say try it out :D

man if only i had an entire weekend to do that to my truck. it takes me like 6 hours to wash, dry, wax, polish chrome, clean the windows inside and out, and armor all the dash. i've only polished my rims once since i got the like 5 months ago but they seem to be holding up pretty good since i got a bout a month in between washes now what with the crappy weekend weather. i guess i just need to bite the bullet and buy some of this stuff and try it out. i'm really sick of wax b/c i can never really get it to look right in the sun no matter how even i try to put it on.

Keep in mind, you need to wash with Dawn ONLY the FIRST time before you apply the prewax Z1 and should not be done again.

Just a heads up

zaino is the greatest thing...EVER :D

i learned about it from camaroz28.com and have never looked back...and my firebird has never been more beautiful :naughty:

The truck needs the Zaino process...but more importantly it needs "3M perfect-it" first, then buff it down, then swirl remove it, then zaino it :D

i'm picky about my automobile finishes :read:

long live zaino! :head: and i'm very curious to try out this new formula which eliminates Z1.
