Yep, another new guy

Hey there. Just bought a '96 GMC K2500 a month ago, as my sister kinda took over my '92 Roadmaster wagon that was serving as my winter beater and parts runner. Hopefully, the truck will be a bit better suited for doing things like hauling motorcycles, taking motors to the machine shop, and hauling around various home-improvement materials. I'm definitely liking it - it sure does the whole daily-driver routine a lot better than the '78 GMC K25 that my dad used to own.

My other vehicles include my '96 Impala SS, which has been the focus of my free time for the last few years. I've also got a few motorcycle projects going on (like a turbo Vmax that I really need to work on, and rebuilding a SV650 that I bought with a blown motor), and I do a fair amount of bicycling.

A job as an electrical engineer for an automotive supplier pays the bills.

I've got the "Dark Cherry Metallic" (burgandy) paint. Haven't decided if that's my favorite Impala color or not - the black and green-gray colors also look really nice.

Hehe, thanks! If you have any cool smiles let me know;) My favorite color is the green-grey, but the cherry is my second favorite. We have a guy down here in Sac whos impala is running in the 10's I think, one of the fastest around! Or it was at that time:LOL:

Looks pretty stock, eh? :D Unfortunately, the exhaust is currently way too loud to fool anyone - gotta fix that problem once the tranny is installed, since I have to move the cats around anyways.

I'm unfortunately not running in the 10s - I have yet to break out of the 13s due to traction problems. When I can get the thing to hook, then I'll start spraying and see where that gets me.

Once the car is done, then I get to start playing around with the truck :head:

Welcome to the site. Its always nice to see more people joining the site in the tri-state area. Gotta love those impalas. Gettin a turbo on one of your bikes? Hell yeah, thats what i like to hear. Planning on any mods for your truck?
