Was refered to this forum via sportruck.com and lemmie tell ya, SO GLAD I FOUND IT!!!


I'm a message board junkie from way back, and primarily hang out at www.sportbikes.net But friday I found myself in a 2002 ext cab 2wd silverado ;)


Little history:
I started a project about 3 years ago. It was small and meant to ONLY be the "wood truck" ;)

Yeah right.

One thing led to another and now I have a valid streetrod!

Well I'm about 75% complete (you can see all about the resto/rod buildup on the webpage) with a few $1000 to go :bawl: when I got distracted with motorcycles :rolleyes:

ANYWAY...my Daily driver (http://www.troybaker.com/55/daily5.jpg) had racked up about 100k and needing a bigger vehicle anyway (I have 2 kids, a 5yr old boy and 5 month old girl) so the search was on. We already had a chevy venture.....and Blu of course so the choice was easy.

I'm looking to do a FEW minor mods up front......LOVE to paint the grill and front bumper plastic red to match the truck....and get a billet insert.....and then maybe by christmas some decent wheels/tires and a moderate drop.

looking forward to learning all I can and seeing what all you guys have done to YOUR great ride ;)

Well.........kinda sorta :thumbup:

Since the LAST pics I've managed to replace all 4 springs (WHATTA BEAR....30 yrs of rust :cussing: NOTHING wants to break free...) and get my suspension totally finished. And i fianlly got all my glass and got it installed, as well as SOME hardware one.....but being 90% of the truck is NEW it's a bit expensive :wow: I mean asside from the CAB, frame and bed BOX, everything is new.

If my painter would ever finish my hood I could get her on the road at least (still lacking interior completion and trim) but I'm not rushing him as I am getting my truck painted for nearly free ;)

All we need now is Jason (1badgmc) to pop in and we got our own disfunctional family :D

Oh and BTW....Chris told me that Blazer is OFF THE HOOK ;)

Troy, yep thats a 2/3 (soon to be bagged) with Boyd Coddington 17x8 and 17x9.5 wheels wrapped in Nitto "Tire Force Variation" Tires which are 255/50-17 and 275/50-17
