Here is a writeup I did and some pictures I took of my rear disc swap on the Yook.

I think I have about $400 tied up in this conversion. I haven't added the receipts yet, though.

Enjoy ;D

Great job on the install, i have been wanting to do this for awhile but funds are limited.

Can you get a drawing template of that bracket, i'm very interested in making this conversion work for me!

mine uses 89ish 1/2 ton IFS 4wd front rotors with the center hole cut to fit over the axle flange. and, i have rear calipers from an 84-86 Mustang SVO/contentintal/mark IV. they have Ebrake in them.

What can you do with the e-brake? Anything or just get rid of it?

It's possible to retain the e-brake by using cadillac calipers, but I didn't see the need for the added expense.

Well I don't know how your inspections are but in Texas the vehicle has to have a funtioning E-brake in ordor to pass emmissions. SO you use Caddy Calipers you say to retain E-brake? HOw much more would this add to the cost.

That must suck to have inspections.
My part of Wisconsin doesn't have emissions inspections, or any sort of vehicle inspections unless it's a rebuilt salvage vehicle.

I really can't remember the price difference for calipers, or even which calipers are used. You'll have to do some more digging on FSC and call some parts stores.

Great write up. A buddy of mine wants to do this to his truck. Where did you get the adapter plates at?

hey did you have to modify the brake lines at all? They don't fit the s-10 calipers like I though. did you have to grind the lines where they mount to the calipers?

For the adaptor plates, do a search for a group buy on this site. The guy's e-mail is in there somewhere.

I had to grind the calipers a little bit to make the rubber lines fit correctly. Nothing major at all. The rubber hoses will simply thread to your existing steel brake lines.

It took me forever to find some decently priced 3/8ths steel but I found some so hopefully I will be putting mine back together soon

ive never had an ebrake. :read:

truth is, the caddy calipers don't work very well at all, especially with larger tires. and they are hella expensive. im going to put the money into a slip yok eliminator with a driveline ebrake, rather than 200 dollar calipers that dont work very well.

I got mine done and it works great with the s-10 calipers and also you can get an impala master cylinder for like 115 bucks and it works great together
