Well this is my first time posing on this fourm... so far i like it!!!!

I had my 99 GMC serria ext cab short bed truck lowered about 4 months ago. I went with the hotchkits 2/4 lowering. I also went with the edelbrock ISA drop shocks. My major question is how do i get the roaring noise out of my rear end? (ONLY UNDER HARD THROTTLE THROUGH 2nd GEAR) The shims are under the leaf springs and the center bearing housing on the driveshaft has been put into place. I noticed that there is an adjustment on the center bearing, what is the proper adjustment? Could that be causing my roaring.

Sorry I can't help you but you should try calling Hotchkis directly. They are really nice and could probably help you out. If not try the guys at RTB MOTORSPORTS (972) 771-1231. They are a hotchkis distributer and installer. They are really nice guys that sound like they know what they are doing.

Im the one that posted on the ls1 site. But no one could really answer my questions. I have tried to call hotchkis and they really dont know why im getting the rear end roar. Im almost sure that it is the center bearing adjustment "i think". But im not sure how to adjust it to specs to the proper driveline angle/degree. I checked all bolts and they are torqued correctly. then again it could be something totaly different.

Can some one go through the process of properly torquing down the leaf springs. should i have jackstands supporting the frame then torque down the leaf springs, or should i have weight on the springs and just place a jack under the rear end? I have no idea on which way to go here so i need all the help i can get, the last thing i need to go out is a pinion gear and seal.

go to www.drivetrain.com scroll all the way down and there is a trouble shooting section for driveshafts and such. tells you how to measure your angles...you could try calling them too, i hear they are pretty friendly people :)

Ive been fighting with Vibrations from the beginning and I have no clue on what to do... My vibrations arent that bad, they happen when truck hits second gear and they disappear right after. My center Carrier Bearing Kit is installed but I have no clue on what the angles should be!! Im trying to figure out if the front shaft is suppose to be at 0 degrees or what. I know Hotchkis uses a Transmission spacer but I dont think Belltech does. I have looked at instructions on the web to figure out the angles but I dont understand them at all... seems like they are all geared to 1 piece drive shaft... Hopefully someone can help us.

ok, Mark was in waco today and looked at my angles and said they were off!! My Pumpkin is angled up and I cant remember but I think he said my Carrier Bearing needs to come down a little... probably will try to fix it this weekend... Can Anyone shed some light on this? I have shims (and for the life of me cant remember what degree's they are) but on sportruck forum someone said that you dont need shims on just a 3 inch drop. Also how the heck do I go about adjusting the center bearing? Do I need something to hold the driveshaft up while I adjust it... not to sure about this... Thanks Guys
