RAAM Mat Sound Deadener Group Buy
Many of the guys over on the Audio section aksed me to throw this down again this year, so here it is. I PM'ed 454SS earlier and received full approval for this. All contact will be directly with Rick McCallum (owner of RAAM Audio), as is the same with all business transactions. I merely was a middle man in all of this. Here are the specifics:

RAAMmat BXT Groub Buy

Typical recommended order sizes, you are welcome to order
exactly what you want with the minimum amount of each item
to be 1 roll of BXT, 2 yards of Ensolite, 1 can of adhesive.
Note: Vehicle size is a critical issue here, if you need
specific recommendations for your ride, just let us know.

Basic install, utilized carefully will result in a great deal
of improvent, focus mainly on doors, back of cab wall.

1 roll BXT RAAMmat (62.5 sq ft) $99.00
3 yards Ensolite foam (42 sq ft) $29.85
1 can adhesive for foam (use sparingly) $7.95

Mid to upper level install, depending on your particular
vehicle size. Doors, back wall/doors, rear sides, partialfloor
and firewall coverage. Half rolls are not normally sold but
making this available for the GB for those that need it.

1.5 rolls BXT RAAMmat (93.75 sq ft) $148.50
5 yards Ensolite foam (70 sq ft) $49.75
2 cans adhesive $15.90
______________________________________________

Going all out on on double cabs, extended cabs, probably
overkill on regular cabs. On the smaller cab sizes this is
audio competition level, on SUVs, mid to upper level.

7 yards ensolite foam (97.93 sq ft) $69.65
3 cans adhesive $23.85

Looks like the basic may do it for Regular Cabs, I think I may go with that myself.

I'm definitely in on this. What's the deal with the foam? I havent seen that before. How much different will it be to go with or without the foam? Where does the foam go?

The foam goes over the deadener. Its serves an entirely different purpose than the deadener, and because of this, it yields far better results when used in unison with the matting. The matting is used to help control vibrational issues, like a panel rattling from the lower frequency notes (bass). Its a type of mass loading which helps cut down the vibrations. Now the foam, sinces its closed cell structured, it helps reduce unwanted road noise. Its not sound absorber, but rather sound blocker. Its nice and thin and easy to install, but you need adhesive to do so since it does not have an adhesive backing like the matting does. Now you can see why the combo is much more effective than the matting alone. You will see some guys using like 8 layers of matting thinking they are doing more good than say 2 layers...when in fact its a waste. 1 or 2 layers of matte with 1 layer of Ensolite over that will yield better results.

Sorry if I missed it but is rammatt an asphalt based product?
How does it do on the roof and does it "run" when heated?

are there issues with carpeting laying flat after install? Or panels not fitting because now the mounting surface is 'thicker'?

I'm debating doing the vehicle below but never saw any of this stuff 'in action' so don't know what to expect.

Re: RAAM Mat Sound Deadener Group Buy
RAAm Mat is a butyl based deadener. The closed cell foam will definately improve your sound deadening. As long as you only use 1 or 2 layers of matting and 1 layer of the foam, its not an issure to get the panels back on. Now that doesnt mean to go overboard and use a chit load of layers, you will be fine. I would not hesitate to get this product in your ride, and especially since you are planning on running those RE xxxs back there...

The deadener in my truck is about 3/4" thick. I have no problems.
