Speedometer/Tire Recalibration - $99.99
We knew the truck guys would love this...
When you put gears and/or tires on your full size Chevy, chances are your speedometer is going to be off, and the transmission might not shift quite right. This is because the computer calculates the vehicle speed by monitoring the number of transmission output shaft revolutions, per mile. When the gears and tires are changed, so is the number of revolutions it takes to travel a mile. To fix this, there are three things that can be done: 1. You can reinstall the stock gears and tires 2. You can purchase about $300 worth of "modules" that splice into the wiring harness and "lie" to the computer about the number of revolutions per mile the wheels are turning 3. You can have your speedometer calibration in the computer updated for the new tire size / gear ratio. Option #1 isn't even an option. Option #2 is OK, except it's expensive and as one of our previous customers found out (who happens to be an FSC member also), it won't work on the Hybrid trucks. Option #3 is the cleanest, and quite frankly, the cheapest solution. Up until now, you would have had to ship your PCM across the country to get it reprogrammed, but not with Trifecta's programming service - we ship a programmer to you, which you can use to update your computer, and then you send it back when you are done. Trifecta Performance is currently offering option #3 for $99.99 plus shipping. To order speedometer recalibration only programming today, go to http://www.trifectaperformance.com/order.aspx |
