edelbrock ias shocks
It seems everytime that someone hears that I have these shocks they always ask how well they work so I figured it would be a good idea to post a review of them.
I ordered the shocks designed for the 2-4 drop and installed them at the same time. I am by no means an expert on suspensions or shocks but I can tell you that they were a good improvement over the stockers in ride quality. Now in handling characteristics I noticed a huge difference along with the suspension drop. The truck now seems to hug the road.
Overall I am glad that I went with them and would probobly do it again. The big issue with the edelbrock ias shocks is their price. I got mine for $70 a piece from jegs. I can not tell you if they are worth twice as much as most other shocks because I am only comparing to the stock shocks and suspension.
Hope this helps a little.
Any other ???? just ask

My brother put them on his Explorer and you could definatly tell the difference in hard braking and in body roll. He really likes them. When I went for a ride in it you could feel them fighting the body roll around corners. Sounds weird I know, but it is true.:)

On the truck you used o test the shocks, does the truck have a c-notch? Tomorrow I am getting those shocks installed, but I do not have c-notch, but later on I will probably get one.

Just got back from Brannon Tire putting in my shocks and I notice a big difference with ride on the way home. I hope this cures the bottoming out and I will find out when I go to work tonight. The reason about the c-notch is that it will help from bottoming out, but I will have to wait and see with these shocks. So far I like the shocks and the nice smooth ride.

Got them on my '01 Silverado, which is lowered 2/4. Love them, they really improve the ride. Just my $.02.

My Dad just put them on his 96 s-10 4x4, it made a huge difference over the stock shocks. His s-10 had so much body roll before now it hardly has any. He said I should get a set for my 2002 2500 HD but I am planning on lifting it.

I had them, the only negative I have is that if you hit bumps under hard cornering they will go soft for a second or two, making for a squirrelly ride. This is what they were designed to do though, so there is no actual "problem". Just be aware of this characteristic.

I had them on my 95 truck lowered 4/6. I loved the ride I got out of the front, but the back just seemed weird. The back shocks almost seemed to long. IMO, I would recommend them for a 2/4 drop or a stock/ raised truck but that's it, nothing lower. Even though I didn't like the back you could tell a difference in the way the truck rode and cornered. They are also to priced to high (yea I know I bought a pair) I was wanting to try something new, and when I got mine they had just came out with them, and I didn't have anybody to tell me how they were. IMO Edelbrock needs to stick with the engine performance and leave the shocks to someone else (at least lowered shocks).

Re: edelbrock ias shocks
I have these on my 2004 Chevy Silverado.
They were put on due to the extremely poor ride when I first bought this truck back in October of 2004. I don't know what it is about the 2004 year model Silverados, but this is the poorest suspension (04' Silverado 2WD LS, short bed, extended cab)I've ever riden in. This is my 3rd Silverado in the last 8 years (97', 02', & 04') and I desperately needed some help with the cushion of the ride. I got my Edelbrock IAS shocks through stylinconcepts.com for $70 each. I installed them myself and they proved to help somewhat with the ride. I could definitely tell the difference in ride quality, however, the suspension was still not up to par. Everytime I go over a bump, it seems as if the front suspension bounces like a 'low rider' (*truck is not lowered) and gives the passengers the throwback motion. I will be selling this truck in the next coming month.

I do reccomend these shocks though, great construction and detail.

Re: edelbrock ias shocks
Wow I am surprised this thread came back, I don't have the shock anymore because I went lower to a 4/6 drop. But I did sell them to a member on here who is happy with them.

I don't even have my truck anymore

I did take them out prior to selling the truck. The ride got worse over time. They seemed REALLY squirelly when hitting bumps/undulations in the road, especially when turning and hitting them.

I replaced the rears with Doestch Tech's and the front I went with stock height Billsteins (I had DJM lower control arms). The ride was signifcantly better IMO with this setup.
