General Grabber AT2's
I Replaced the stock Goodyear ST's with a set of these and after 8 months and 6500 mi. they still look brand new. Look wise the tread patterns very similar to BFG AT KO's and they gave my truck a nice rugged look compared to the wimpy ST's. They are responsive and relatively quiet on the street and seem to preform very well in the limited off road muddy situations Ive encountered. In the snow the grip is excellent even without studs and in the rain they shine. These tires are very beefy and have some weight to them 49lbs ea. to be exact, and come with a 60,000mi tread life warranty which is unheard of in most AT tires. The rubber compound is on the stiff side which leads to longer tire life and they are cut and chip resistant. Price wise they cant beat either with my standard 265/70r-17's costing just over 100.00 ea. If your looking for a new AT tire this fall do yourself a favor and check them out you wont be disappointed. on a scale of 1 to 10 these definitely get

Re: General Grabber AT2's
I have to agree with every thing you said. I put a set on this spring and like them. The shop told me they are some times hard to get. Guy that mounted the tire said with the rim protector they were a b!tch to mount. Thinking about set for my Trailblazer.

Re: General Grabber AT2's
With older tire changing equipment the wheel rim protectors can be ripped a little around the edges. We used to have this old as all hell one in the auto shop at the college i went too. i had to rebuild it twice. f-in junk, it got to the point where i actually mounted a set of tires myself using both arms and legs and body weight. but now i know i can do it if i need too.

Re: General Grabber AT2's
Anyone want to give an update on the grabber's? I am really considering this tire, its received great reviews and is a great price. Little surprised how heavy they are... anyone notice your gas mileage change when these went on?

Re: General Grabber AT2's
I put these on my 99 chevy and havent noticed much of a change in milage. I only have about 3,000 miles on them but they ride good and seems to get good snow traction. I switched from 245/75 to 285/75 and I love them so far.

Re: General Grabber AT2's
I don't have them on my Silverado, but I have them on my Jeep GC...great in the snow/rain, not noisy, and wear very well. I've had the BFG AT/KOs on my old 4WD S-10 in the same size as the Jeep (235/75/15) and the AT2s are just as good for alot less $$.

Re: General Grabber AT2's
I don't have them on my Sierra, but I did on an older Cherokee. The guys mounting them had a hell of a time with the rim guard. Overall a great tire, but they SUCK on ice. They have no traction what-so-ever. But anywhere, and everywhere else they were great.

Re: General Grabber AT2's
I was looking at bfg's until I fount this comparison
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...nSpeedRating=R

i'm thinking about the goodyears, they have a good ice rating.

Re: General Grabber AT2's
I was messing around with both the BFG's and the goodyears the other day at work and the goodyears were freakishly easy to buckle in with my hand. this would equate to a more compliant ride but it doesn't seem that strong. Just a minor comparison on my part but with the way i drive my truck and the stuff i put it through, i would need the strength of the BFG's.

Re: General Grabber AT2's
I wonder if I can find a place that stocks them and look at them myself. I'm wondering on that rating site how many have ever driven offroad, and also I see the bfg's have a lot more miles driven.
