How do i know if i have an aftermarket alarm?
How do i know if i have an aftermarket alarm? I have a alarm light installed in my dash but the truck never came with a remote. So whats the best way to find out if i can just buy a remote for the alarm and find the brand...

look under your dash, if you see a black box with lots of wires coming out of it, that may be an alarm, check it out.
Or look in you engine bay for a siren

Follow the wires for the LED in yout dash. They'll lead you to the alarm brain.

Most likely i do then? I dont see why someone would just install a light...because it doesnt even light up.

Yea, thats what im saying. I think its a alarm because it doesnt light up. If it lit up it could be a fake light just to deter. Some people like to cheap out lol.

Well, it turns out its just a flashing light. Its got a switch on it. One grounded wire and a power wire. Damn it. Maybe it will deter someone now...On the bright side i found a XM radio box. lol
