Operational Amplifiers

The operational amplifier is arguably the most useful single device in analog electronic circuitry. With only a handful of external components, it can be made to perform a wide variety of analog signal processing tasks. It is also quite affordable, most general-purpose amplifiers selling for under a dollar apiece. Modern designs have been engineered with durability in mind as well: several "op-amps" are manufactured that can sustain direct short-circuits on their outputs without damage.

ayt?

Re: **Amplifier Gain setting tutorial**

My friend and I were checking the clipping volume on our head units last night. The oscilloscope reading told us that nether of our decks clip at full volume and flat eq and no other enhancements on. (witch is how we listen to it anyway). Does this sound right. That nether of the decks clip at full volume. IDK how the oscilloscope could be wrong since it is a visual output.

Re: **Amplifier Gain setting tutorial**

hey man, i read through but i'm pretty confused. here's what i'm working with:

http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/...p-my-subs.html

i understand the concept of the setting formula, just not sure if i'm doing it right.

i think this is the formula that will work.
V=sqrt (250w RMS x 4 Ohms)
V=sqrt (1000)
V=31.6

hey I have a 3 year update with ALL THE SAME SETUP my method worked for me as i tuned my stereo for 30 of 35 but listen to it on 22, its not luck either, I think I could find something rare and the next day 4,000,000 of the same things would be discovered
