Re: Radio Locked
Yes you will have to take it to your dealer to be reprogrammed. The theftlock system makes the radio require reprogramming to match your VIN. It is that way on all GM radios that have the RDS system. I just recently had the same situation and my dealer charged me for 1 hour shop time($42.00) even though it took the dude less than 5 minutes to do it. Good Luck, JT

Re: Radio Locked
I have an 03 silvy with a 5.3. Went to a junkyard and got another stock radio out of another 03 silvy. Took it to the stealership and they couldn't unlock it because the truck it came out of had a 6.0.

The motor in the donor truck has nothing to do with the radio. The only thing they had to do was change the VIN in the unit.

I would also like to know this. I have a laptop based scan tool, is there any form of software I can get that will allow me to reprogram the VIN in the radio [the software that comes with the tool does not]?

Question Radio doesn't even come on....
I have replaced my battery and alternator in my 2003 Silverado and now my anti theft radio will not even display "LOC".

What can I do?

It seems dead. Fuse is OK.

Kind of. It includes 02 in our trucks, but will only work on radios that dont have RDS. (Some GM cars 02 and before will not unlock using this code)
