Bose vs stock non bose quick question!
are the bose and stock POS speakers in teh 07-08 NNBS silverados interchangeable? or does the wiring and everything have to be swapped too?

im dealing with an 08 crew lt and a 07 ltz crew, the LTZ got new alpine stuff, and the LT wants to buy the bose stuff!

any info is greatly appreciated!

Re: Bose vs stock non bose quick question!
the wiring will most likely require some modification to terminals but there is no reason the speakers shouldn't be interchangeable as long as they are the same size.

how ever the stock bose system is crap. there is much better that can be bought for about the same if not lower.

i disagree. Yes yo uwon't be winning any sound compitions but for a truck that bose system is some thing else... there is a reason my truck has become the community sound box at party's, because of my bose system

with the expection of bass... mines just as good, or damn near as good as alot of the kids who threw after markets into these vehiles... i listen to it cranked 95% of the time, and its still crisp as the day i got it

now your right, you may get better for the same price/hassle of swapping it out.. MAYBE even cheaper if you good... but theres no knocking the bose system IMO

Thank you for the morning laugh. The blose system is far from good sounding. You should actually sit in a vehicle with a real system once and then you'd NEVER say that.

all that tells us is that the locals around you are doing some very ****ty installs on their speakers.

As for the bose, new harnessess, headunits, amps, etc are needed. It would be more expensive and difficult to swap then to replace with MUCH nicer gear.

Re: Bose vs stock non bose quick question!
And you'd still have to take the truck to the dealership to get the radio unlocked after putting it in a different truck...way too much work, way to little gain.

The Blose system is horrible. Even a entry level component set from a decent brand would blow it out of the water.

Re: Bose vs stock non bose quick question!
It is a nice perk with the LTZ model but if you are making your purchase decision based soley on BOSE then something is wrong. Do you want heated leather memory seating, buckets, and the other standard options on the LTZ? If all you care about is speakers then buy a 1LT and spend the extra money you save over the LTZ (anywhere from $4-5000) to buy a killer system.

Re: Bose vs stock non bose quick question!
He says that he is dealing with an 08 1LT and an 07 LTZ. Seems like he is looking at each truck and asked the question about them being switched. And under his name he says he is soon to be a full size owner.

Re: Bose vs stock non bose quick question!
I should have added, as far as switching you would have to do all of the seating and center counsel as well in order to get the BOSE woofer (assuming you want to keep everything stock in the switchover).

Re: Bose vs stock non bose quick question!
sorry i was MIA for a day, yeah the complete bose system is being sold for 200$, so i dunno it seems like a good deal to me. he'd rather do taht than go aftermarket, hes just looking for a nice upgrade, hes not going to any sound competitions or anything. but thanks for the input so far guys!

so far i've gathered that the wiring will have to be modded, and maybe some tinkering with the back of the radio if its not compatible? aynthing else i should be aware of?

If it were free I would still recommend that you buy something else.
