Best RCA cables???
After dealing with my amp cutting in and out for about 8 months now, I have finally pinpointed my problem down to the RCA cables, I originally thought it was the sub-out jacks in the "brain", but tried them on the front/rear output jacks with the same result. It's been installed for 3 years next month, and I can't remeber if the wires are out of my old truck or if I bought new ones.
So my question is...What are the best pre-made RCA cables? I don't care about the cost, I want to be able to enjoy my music again!! Thanks |

Re: Best RCA cables???
Spending a lot on cables is like buying premium when your truck runs on 87...completely worthless. Just get the cheaper ones from Knu and call it good.

Re: Best RCA cables???
if you have a really high end system then monster makes great cables, and they have a lifetime guarrantee on em. free replacement. but i use the scosche ones from walmart and they work absolutly fine.

That's what's in it now, and they seem to have just crapped out, This happened in my 1st truck with them also, but I quit driving it before I ever thought about it. |

Re: Best RCA cables???
Monster has worse business practices than ED. www.knukonceptz.com makes great cables.

Re: Best RCA cables???
I'm more of a home audio guy, but Monster's stuff is generally considered "OK" and overpriced for what it is. For the home, I've bought stuff from www.bluejeanscables.com and www.partsexpress.com and am extremely happy with what I received. I've also heard that www.monoprice.com has good cables at low prices.

Re: Best RCA cables???
Don't buy monster cables, they really aren't any better than rat shack cables for 20% of the price.

Re: Best RCA cables???
you donot want to use a cable built like a coax cable. UTP (unshielded twisted pair) would be the best way to go. The shileding doesnot do anything to keep noise out and a coax type cable will only induce magnetic flux. How do you get rid of a magnetic field in car audio?

I got 3 pairs of 12 foot Stingers, they're the red ones I think, and they havent given any problems, great quality and fairly cheap.

Re: Best RCA cables???
Wow, it's been a year since I asked this! But just a little update, I finally got around to buying new cables last week(mostly because I haven't had the subs hooked up for sometime now because of the cutting out) installed them last Monday. They are RF dual twist wires. All I can say is wow 1000x better than the rcas that were in it before. Better signal and sound, actually had to turn my amp down and the output at the headunit. Best of all they don't cut out anymore.
