Re: The Definitive Guide to Sound Deadening
O no. not near that much. when and if you order it check what the shipping weight is because it varies depending on the brand. If you are just doing your doors probably 20 pounds total for 1 layer (inner and outer skin)

Re: The Definitive Guide to Sound Deadening
I mainly want to do the cab floors and walls.
or where ever the most sound leaks in and out. Im not doing it for the sound quality so much as im looking for a nice quiet ride.
I just upgraded to a '01 Silverado LT excab 2wd from a single cab 4 banger ranger... that damn ranger had such a horrible drone in it and was louder then hell on the insterstate. But i had a decent sound setup in it with a 4ch amp and a little 6" basstube. That tube was damn near perfect for that truck... damn thing rocked out.
But i still hear alot of wind noise on the highway with the Silverado... i would like to tone it down a little.

Re: The Definitive Guide to Sound Deadening
your doors will be the biggest part of that. after that if you have stock exhaust and tires it will be the fire wall and the window seals (nothing you can do about the seals except curse GM )

Re: The Definitive Guide to Sound Deadening
i dont know where your calculations came from, im guessing personal experience but some of it isnt correct. In my ECSB all four doors you listed are correct in sq feet needed. however im doing the floor, headliner, and rear firewall right now and im using way more than 22 sq ft for the floor and 20 for the headliner. not sure how you did it, but mine is taking a lot more.

What is your definition of 'way more'?

Re: The Definitive Guide to Sound Deadening
After I finished, the floor was the only thing wrong. I used 21 on the floor but probably need another 12 or so
