Re: The 'Hoe Install... work log
hey, can you take some measurements of the 'raw' screen? I'm looking for the actual screen, not all the plastic case and other crap. Just width and heigth would really help me out.

Re: The 'Hoe Install... work log
I don't know that I'll be able to get them tonight, but I should have time sometime this weekend.
I want to say the size was posted somewhere in the "Great Deal: Samsung 10.4" LCD" thread over on MP3car.com, if you need them sooner.

I dont want to be one to impede your progress, but what are you planning to do with those vents comming from under the dash?

I'll see if I can find that thread. I'm doing some risk migtigation - if I can't get my screen dialed in I want to know that I can buy one that will fit.
Thanks!

Thanks. There will be space in front of the console for the air to blow around the front of it, so it's not an issue.

Re: The 'Hoe Install... work log
I noticed you said something about a hole for the air to flow through for the vents under the dash. I havent looked at the screen ur looking at so forgive me if this is a stupid question. but are you worried about the screen getting too hot when the heat is on? I know some of the screens are very heat sensitive.

Look at post #8... It shows the final mounting of the screen. There is a fair amount of space between the board that the control boards are mounted on and the F/G sides. If need-be, I can always fab in some small fans to blow across the back as well.

Re: The 'Hoe Install... work log
not sure if you've gotten this far, but last night I tried to install the TS drivers, but like many others on mp3car, mine threw an error. After reading through 23 pages on that thread, found a link to a driver that works:

Name sounds familiar... Seems like an inside sales role... I've only been here for just over 2 years, and I'm anti-social, so I don't see too many people...

I had no issues on my test PC... On my dev PC, it crashed, and crashed hard! I've still yet to try it on the mobo/HDD/setup it will actually be ran on...
 Thanks for the link!
