deadening pics

3 layers of RAMMat on inside of the outer skin.

Laying out the Enolite . GO GATORS!

Ensolite instaled

Big holes sealed.

Finally

On to the drivers door.

Ouch.

That’s all for now. Hopefully I can finish up the drivers door this weekend. For anyone considering deadening their doors, the end result is incredible. I purposely finished the pass door before starting on the drivers side so I could balance back and forth and hear the difference. Even with the stock speakers, I was amazed at the effect it had. I can’t wait to hear it when I get a decent set of comps mounted to baffles. Thanks to everyone that gave me advise before I started this project.

Yeah, I found it funny that I sliced up my right hand doing the pass door and my left hand doing the drivers door. Coincidence………… hell if I know.

I finally settled on using the vapor barrier with silicone and screws.

Reminds me of the good ol' days when my doors still had holes for 6.5s

Re: deadening pics

Looks good man. I just recently finished mine and can't believe the difference it made. Like you said, even the factory speakers were improved. But, once I got the system in it really made it all worthwhile. I somehow only cut myself once and that was with a utility knife and not on the doors, and it was actually more of a stab rather than a cut.

When I was carpeting the sub box for the 4 tens in my Rodeo, I slipped and stuck the utility knife full tilt into my shin. Not a fun thing to do.

Re: deadening pics

I don't imagine that was much fun. I always seem to get myself to some degree when I use a utility knife. Luckily I'm not a bleeder...

Re: deadening pics

the baffles will be coming soon. I plan on buying a router with the usual Lowes gift cards I get for Christmas. Then I need to pick out the comps and amp.

Re: deadening pics

I'm very seriously considering doing this to my doors only I'm using the JC Whitney insulation which is like carpet padding with tin foil on it. Not the best I know but it should still help. How hard is it to remove the black frame work that holds all the workings of the window motor and such? I can't decide if it would be easier to remove that as well or cheat and use small pieces and go through whatever opening I can to insulate the back side of the door skin.

Thanks!

This was my first time deadening so I don’t really have a reference as to other mat companies. RAMMat comes highly recommended from a lot of the people on this forum and Rick was great to work with. He even e-mailed me to tell me I ordered too much ensolite . Most people wouldn’t be that honest.
