What to check on a non-working sub?
I have a JL sub that was given to me that does not work, at all, what should I check for?

Other than making sure the tinsel leads are connected to the terminal, not really anything you can do.

You could measure the DCR of the coils, it will just confirm if it is fried or not. Also push on it and listen for mechanical noises. You should also inspect the tinsel leads/terminals.
