Box building
I bought a system from a friend. (2) 12 inch subs and a 1000 watt amp. The box it came in just took up too much space. I have a 99 OBS ext cab. I want to build some custom boxes to put the subs under the rear seat. This will be the first time ever building a box.

First question. I have heard to use MDF to make the box. Is this the stuff to use?

2) What is the basic procedure on building a box? Anything special I need to know?

3) Has anybody with an ext cab OBS that has built boxes to go under the seat have some rough measurements I can use?

99 Z71 6 inch superlift, 35/12.50 Super Swamper TSL Radial's, 18x9 XD Diesel Black's, 2 1/2 inch true duels with just high flow cats

1) Yes you need to use MDF, specifically 3/4".
2) Not too much you need to know, just make sure it is really sturdy, use bracing if needed and use glue & screws on the seams. Also, insure you seal the inside of the seams.
3) I recently built a box to go under the rear seat of my Tahoe, but I don't think those numbers will help you. Sorry.

Oh, if you are unsure of one of your measurements cut out a piece of cardboard and see if fits.

Hope this helps. Post some pics as you go, I'd love to see how it looks.
