So what do I have here?
So I bought this truck over a year ago and the guy mentioned it had a nice system in it, but I don't know much all I know is it sounds alright. It's all mounted behind the rear seat so I never had a reason to take it off to look at it. Well on the way to work today my subs stopped working. I pulled off the rear seat and found one of the capacitors wasn't grounded well, so I fixed that but took some pics. How old would you say this system is and is it budget, decent or top end?
Here's what I know followed by pics; Head Unit - Alpine CDE-9852 Subs - 2 10" Audiobahn (setup mono) Capacitors - Road Rage (Mas Power) 1 Farad 20/24 Volt Surge Amp - Performance Teknique 1CBM779 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: So what do I have here?
Head unit is fine, but the rest is low-low-end.

Re: So what do I have here?
thanks for letting me know, yeah I looked up some of the stuff online and it seems this system was probably put together for less than 400.00 minus the head unit. What should I focus on first in upgrading? I listen to more rock music so I don't need crazy sub action for rap and stuff. I was also told capacitors are pretty much usless so I guess I could ditch those. Any help is greatly appreciated.

He could run to Y addapters and do it that way, but it would make it hard to control each amp, since theyre running off of a shared signal. He could run a LOC, but I dont know that I understand that sort of nonsense when you have an aftermarket radio. He could buy and run the Cleansweep, or something similar, but those are expensive and he could buy a very nice 880prs or something of the like for that kinda cash. |
