What we need to know when you need new gear, be sure to include the following info

Please include the following when asking about new gear:
  1. Make/model/year/body type (regular cab, extended cab, etc.) of the truck you're working on.
  2. What kind of HU you are using. We need to know if you are using stock, or after market.
  3. What speakers you have- size and location.
  4. If you need speakers: do you have subs?, are these going to be the only speakers you have? are you going to run an amp?
  5. What is your budget. You need to figure money for other stuff besides the speakers, amp, etc.
  6. Any other info that might help us help you.
  7. Are you willing to cut your doors, etc.
  8. Do you have the skills / tools, etc. for a proper install? Or are others doing the installation?

Hope this helps some when someone needs info on what speakers they need. It makes a difference on what someone will recommend if you need, say door speakers, and you have subs, and will amp the replacement speakers.

Thread stuck.

Good idea, Chris.

If anyone has additional thoughts, post them up here or PM either Chris or myself so that we can edit the first post and add them to the list.

Chris -- As you make additions that are posted in the thread, PM me and I'll trim the thread as needed.

A very obvious question... Goals. Are you simply wanting to be the loudest on your block (SPL), or are you wanting something very accurate (SQ), or is your goal simply budget?
