Need help
I went out and bought a sub, box, amp and wiring kit this summer, I says it is rated for 600watts. Well I have recently come to find out that the amp maxes out at 400, while the sub is rated for 600 max. I want deeper and more "moving" bass. So do I need to replace the amp, the sub, or both. I am working on a very limited budget.
The sub- http://www.fusioncaraudio.com/north-....aspx#addninfo
The Amp- http://www.fusioncaraudio.com/north-....aspx#addninfo
Edit: I know that it wont produce the same effect as my friend 1000watt, but its pretty bad right now

Re: Need help
What you have is a noisy (87db SNR) and dirty (1%THD@RMS) 90Watt amp. A good amp for your truck will cost about $150.

Re: Need help
I think your best bet would be the clean & quiet Boss CX500D $159 @ sonic electronix. They have that Kenwood for $110. Or buy a good 2 or 4 channel A/B amp like SPL FX-800 or GRLA 800 (lots of others too) for $90 and bridge it. Single channel A/B amps are are oddball to me..when clean/cheap class D amps are available and best suited for subs.

Re: Need help
Ouch! OK I'll go see...That looks like the best they have for you. Sry. It's still hella better than that fusion.

Re: Need help
another question. Does anyone have any experience with fusion subs. I love the sub, but hate the amp.

Re: Need help
haven't been to best buy in a while... i'd suggest a rockford or alpine if they are still carrying those brands. Kenwood or pioneer are OK. but i agree that if search online you'll get a whole lot more for your money than paying full retail

Re: Need help
They like to put MAX power on the outside of the amp and box always look for RMS Power you will see a drop of 25% to 50% on cheaper equipment.
