Correct that to blocks period.
I do not even trust them on the street and think they should be illegal to anything over an inch for lift.

They are illegal, at least here, and at least for the front axle, and I'm pretty sure there's a limit on the block thickness for the rear axle too.

Re: How many of yall have lifted classic's?
They work fine in a rear axle up to a certain height. They are actually reqired in certain applications if you want to retain your load halling ability. Big arched springs are not great for everything.
Blocks got a bad rap because backward azz rednecks stacked then, put them up front, made silly tall ones etc, etc.
The only way to keep a true 3/4 or 1 ton truck with a mild lift is to use a block. ALL the lift makers make their spings for comfort over load hauling. So in order to keep your load hauling springs you need to use a block. Call one of them up and ask what they reccomend if you still want to haul with the truck!!

Re: How many of yall have lifted classic's?
Oh yeah, blocks are fine for the rear if made properly and not too tall - kinda like Tony Sinclair's Tanqueray, always in moderation, lol

nova801428 you should change those mirriors on your truck and give it a fresh paint job thats the stance i am looking for.
Also going to send you a pm.

I actually like the dorky mirrors. The stance is o.k, but it sits a little lower in the back. I wanted kind of a rake, but oh well, that's what happens when you mismatch parts. Anyway. I would like to paint it, but rust is killing it. I was thinking about just getting rid of this truck and starting with a clean one. But trying to find a clean one is hard, and if it is clean it will probably have rust problems soon. And mine if done properly would be good. I would love to start redoing this truck but at age 17 and no job (not until summer) and no garage I don't think it is possible...and I don't want to do it right now. Thanks though.

Re: How many of yall have lifted classic's?
well, i don't currently have a lifted classic...but i have had a few...here's a couple i use to have...
my '78 K20. was a K10, but it had a 14b FF rear and a D44 front with 8-lug outers installed. also had a 454/SM465/NP205...was a really fun truck...shouldn't have sold...
this one was known as the "Concoction". it was a K5 Blazer frame with a '76 GMC cab. had Mustang II bucket seats (the ultimate in redneck comfort...), a Pinto shifter (don't ask), a 350/Th350/NP205 with a 14b FF rear and a D44 front with 8-lug outers. rear was lincoln locked. couldn't hardly stop it...
my '83 Sierra is the next lifted classic i will own...won't be much longer now...

Re: How many of yall have lifted classic's?
I'm still not lifted, but will be as soon as possible. Should get my x-mas bonus friday, so it may just be the ticket. Plans are for 4-6" lift and 33-35's. Will post pics whenever it's finally done.
