Re: How many of yall have lifted classic's?

Mine is a 75 Jimmy with six inch springs and 3 inch body. Its an old pic with 35x14.50x15 GroundHawgs. Now it has 39.5x13.50x15 IROKs. Put a 78 pickup cab and shortened a short bed 11.5 inches. I run a 355 TPI, Th350/NP205 with Dana 44 and a 12 bolt. Its my a toy I play with on the weekends.

so your fitting 39.5 Irocks with 6" lift and 3" body? And only running 1/2 ton axles just fine? Going to run that same set-up but with 1 ton rear and 3/4 ton front intill I get the 1 ton front.
Any up-dated picture's?

Re: How many of yall have lifted classic's?

ah, what the hell... i'm planning on a 2.5" or 4" lift on this one. so here it is pre-lift, and pre-resto.

i really like the way the 2.5" looks on my 80 so i'll probably end up going that route with the 77 too.

That's 4" lift and 33's? or is that pre-lift? If that's what 4" and 33's looks like, then I'm definitely going bigger!

Hmmm.....Here is a picture of my 74 with NO LIFT and 33s for reference. (sorry, best picture I have) That was the day I brought it home. It is a 3/4 ton "Camper Special" just FYI

Now here is the same truck with 4" lift and 37s on it. (The Bushwhacker flares help them fit)

Thanks for the reference pics. Yeah, yours looks bigger than his too. Is that 4" all spring or do you have blocks? And did you have to cut the fenders to install the flares?

Re: How many of yall have lifted classic's?

You have to cut the fenders to add the flares. This is why the 37s fit with only 4" lift.

After a LONG conversation with Superlift we decided to use an add a leaf and small blocks in the rear to keep the 3/4 ton hauling ability. They say that all the full leaf systems are made with ride comfort in mind and are not designed with the same load hauling capacity in mind.

Re: How many of yall have lifted classic's?

My 1986 scottsdale saved my money when i was 13 for it had 4 going on 5 years now. I really dont know what size lift is in it its all spring and can't tell if its a 2 inch or 4 inch its on 35 a/t for another couple days. Its currently my d/d slash project truck.Iam ordering my 35x14.50x16 boggers for it this week.I have 16 inch American racing wheels for it. I have my new billet grille in the garage, chrome head light bezels, tonneua cover and be mat. Then Iam building a 362 small block for it and paint it and it should be done but they never are.
