Re: Couldnt hold out any longer
Im to lazy...

well heres some more pics and a cpl are rusty pics...

Inner wheel well, this so far is the worst rust. It ate threw most of this well and the fendr, also had alot of rust threw the bolts so i had to cut what was left off, its replacable though. It looks like a battery leaked at one time and ate some metal.

heres the whole in the fender were these met... this so far is the only spot were rust came threw, but i think it was battery acid actually.

well got the front clip all the way off

alot of cleaning to come....

fuse box is gonna be replaced as well i think, looks rough..

here are they dents on the roof

dash was removed...

the nasty dash...lucky me get to replace it

thats it at the moment but as soon as this weekend comes i hope to have the bed removed and cab. I got friends coming over for superbowl party. I hope to get them to help lift these two items off if i have it all unbolted, and ready to go....

Naw I cant see **** out of those mirrors for some reason they cant be adjusted perfectly. I have a set of the larger mirrors like the ones the vans and trucks shared. How does it mount to the hood?

Re: Couldnt hold out any longer
Damn, I'm getting ready to price some headers, too. I've seen some in Jegs for $90. Granted, they aren't ceramic coated or stainless. I might go with those.

It has been too cold to work on my truck, too. I got my manifolds unbolted from the pipes today. I'm at a standstill until my buddy tells me what to remove next. I've never done a resto before and I'm more of a body guy than a mechanic. Once I get my motor out I can start on the body.

Looks like you're making some good progress. Keep the updates coming!

tip for the bed get someone to stand on the top of the cararige bolts and use a impact gun to get them off after soaking it in pentrating fluid.

Re: Couldnt hold out any longer
Do you have an engine hoist and some chains? Hook the chain into the stake pockets, put the boom of the lift in the middle of the bed, hook the chains into the lift and use that.

I think you have the same problem I do, though. While I can get the lift in there, because I don't have enough solid ground in back of the bed (garage has no driveway, just lawn) I can't roll it back out of the way.

Re: Couldnt hold out any longer
i used a 4x4 the length of the bed, with two pieces at either end of the bed running full width. i put an eye bolt in the middle and hooked my hoist to it. removed the bed from start to finish by myself in 20 mins.
