Re: Started working on my girl
Don't see a reason why it can't, technically it only needs three wires to run rally - one from the ignition switch to the FSS in the IP, one from the ignition switch to the starter relay on the firewall, and finally the monstrous cable from the dual batteries to the starter. Glow plugs have a very nice controller, so you can use that one too, only needs one wire IIRC. You'll probably have to get creative with the body mounts, and you'll need to use a diesel-specific tranny as well, which is actually where you may run into problems - the '94 F350 if slushbox-equipped uses the E4OD, which is electronically controlled, and to work right uses things like tach and VSS signals. If you don't wanna mess with rewiring for the E4OD PCM you can always go bolt-action with a 5-speed ZF, but again this has to be a diesel-specific transmission. If you want strong and cheap slushbox get a C6 from an '80s diesel Ford, then slap some extra clutches and a manual valve body in it and call it good.

Re: Started working on my girl
shoot, why waste money on a 7.3 when you can have a 5.9 Cummins for the same or less? throw a 12V Cummins in that sucker and you'll not only have less complications, you'll have more power.

Re: Started working on my girl
Ya i couldnt find a cummins with the tranny transfercase axles and all the wring for a good price. And if i found the motor it wasnt hooked up to a truck so i wasn't sure if it was running or not. But the 94 is a comlete truck. The only comlete truck with a cummins i found was a 93 with cracked tail stocks and had 417 000 km on it and he wanted 2500 no less.

Man, there ain't no such thing as a cheap Cummins - and if you find one, the seller better be a relative or a good friend. Also, think about repairs - Cummins will last long, but then how much is the injection pump gonna run ya? Compare that to a custom-tuned Stanadyne DB2 that can be had for about $400 (or less if you get lucky), all the other parts for the IDI are fairly cheap as well...

Re: Started working on my girl
yea, i hear what you're saying, but once you fork over the money for the upgraded fuel injection pump the Cummins is rock solid...

That is true, but you're still taking a pretty big risk, unless the seller is completely clueless as to what he's trying to get rid of, but what's the chance of such a naive soul to end up with a Cummins in the first place? lol
