Re: Out with the old, in with the new 6.0
You should make a list of everything you had to modify/build to make this engine fit.
2002 Chevy Silverodo 4x4 stock for now
1998 Daytona Grand prix #799 of 1500 sold
1979 scottsdale - SOLD
19-- work in progress.

Re: Out with the old, in with the new 6.0
Aside from the complete motor/tranny...
87 tank and sending unit.
walbro intank pump
vette filter regulator
carshopinc motor mount plates
new ujoints(did not have to shorten driveshaft)
lokar aca1800 shift linkage
a couple relays
sent harness to speartech
4"-3.5" rubber elbow, 3.5" pipe for intake, k&n cone filter, a few tbolt clamps.
Several -6an fittings and hose, used for fuel from filter/regulator, and used for tranny lines to new tranny cooler.
If you have the complete motor/tranny/harness/ecm, not a lot of parts you need to buy, but you have to plan and look at other swaps so you will know "about" what you need.
Looking back, I could have done a few thhings different and for less $, but it's also a learning experience for me. I don't plan on this being my last swap, so hopefully I will be a little more prepared next time.

looks good man, you will love it when you are finished...if you ever will be.

i have found that the nickel and dime stuff is what will kill you.

i wish i could find a 4l80e for cheap, i am still using my old th350 and am now dealing with a driveshaft that is too short.

Re: Out with the old, in with the new 6.0
well, I thought I would be "smart" and run fbody manifolds to get it home and wait on headers, the pass. side manifold does not have 02 bung, it's in the collector, which I do NOT have.
Dumb oversight by me.
Contacted s&p today, still not started on my headers.
Aside from the headers, I do have to get the new posi unit/gears, and my exhaust redone(should not take much, it has not even been on a year! lol)
If I had headers it would run. I'm tired of the nickel and dime, not even gonna look for 02/collector...just wait on headers.

Re: Out with the old, in with the new 6.0
if you have a welder and a chop saw and some other tools you could make f-body headers fit your truck, i started to use my buddies old headers, the d-side was mashed up so bad i wound up not using it. the passenger side needs very little denting to work, the drivers side needs 1 tube to be re=routed and the collector angle needs to be changed. thats it... well that and time to do it all.... either way get some pictures up man :)

Re: Out with the old, in with the new 6.0
the fbody manifolds have been on for a couple of weeks, just a small bit of grinding on pass. side. but no 02 bung, and I don't have a welder, or an 02 bung.
Drivers side fits, no problems.
What diff carrier do you recommend? I keep hearing trutrac...
Opinions?
I am taking some pics tomorrow...

Re: Out with the old, in with the new 6.0
Fit the headers this evening, they fit good, the only problem I ran into is the "ear" on driver's side on the 4l80e. I got about 1/2 of it cut away when my wheel gave out...last one...
I'll have it done tomorrow and some pics. The headers are nice.

Re: Out with the old, in with the new 6.0
those are some pretty clean control arms/A-arms. Where did you buy them? Did you blast the old and repaint? Im in serious need of new control arms on both sides. ebay scares me because of quality, and I don't really want to drop mine lower.

I'm not sure on tranny cooler, but it's a b&m race cooler, has 1/2npt ports. I think it will handle the job. ;)

Re: Out with the old, in with the new 6.0
well, got the new headers in this week, put them on, they fit good, no problems. Decided to start her up, make sure it had oil pressure.
My local tuner can't make it until at least Monday, so I gotta wait to burn some rubber, more later
