Re: Bought a truck for my brother
yea we got the master cylinder from Advance Auto for like 30 bucks and works like a charm. I will tell my brother about the proportioning valve and let him figure out what he wants to do with it.

Oh yea, his truck also has a limited slip with 373 gears, which is kinda cool....he drove it 130 miles home yesterday without a hickup. Pics soon.

I was thinking of bypassing it, particularly because I hate unnecessary complication and it's very close to being in the way of my exhaust, but I was concerned that without it, my truck might have a tendency to want to swap ends braking on wet pavement without a load in the bed.

Re: Bought a truck for my brother
I may be bolting in a FF eventually, so that is good information. I have my 12 bolt on right now with 4.10's, the 14 SF I have is also 4:10's...

There is a yard around here that literally has tons of 14bolt FF's. They are on numerous trucks, and literally stacked about 6 feet high along the side of one of his sheds. I know the guy that runs it, and he is my brothers wifes cousin, so he gives me great deals on whatever I want out there, so its time to do some shopping. What does a Dana 60 look like??? I guess I will have to do a search! :) Thanks

Re: Bought a truck for my brother
That K20 looks alot like mine: running boards, huge rear bumper, block heater plug coming out the grille, white factory wheels, etc.

Re: Bought a truck for my brother
Mine was an ex farm truck, and has low miles on it. Not a whole lot of rust, less than his does, but the body is beat on pretty bad. I will probably just replace panels. The cab mounts, frame, and floor pans, etc. are practically rust free, just where the body was dented is where the rust formed.

My truck has a freshly rebuilt 350 and runs great, his truck has the origonal engine, and while it runs good, lacks the power that mine has. Other than that, I would have traded him, but I love my truck and while that one looks better, he has a long way to go before the kinks are worked out, and mine has most of them worked out now.

thanks for the help guys!!

oh yea, consider them gone. They would have been gone this weekend, but the clutch and master cylinder took most of our time, so that will come next.

Re: Bought a truck for my brother
Yea, i like the paint on his too. It has a tag that says it was repainted in 2003, but I guess they didn't do such a good job at the body prep, cause the rust is coming through in the cab corners, and over the rear wheels. I plan on a solid lighter blue for my truck, similar to what is on my truck already. Of course when I do that, I will have to find another beater to do the dirty work, and then I will do the same to that one....its a vicious cycle that goes on and on....
