ls1 10-bolt rear end gear ?
Is the 10 bolt ring and pinion out of the ls1's the same as our trucks? if so im going to install it! if you know, please inform me!

An LS1 what?

I think the 4th gen F-Bodies had the 7.625 rear, which is pretty similar to an S10/Sonoma (although some S10s, like the ZR2 did have an 8.5).

The Y-Body (Vette and XLR) have an independent rear and so did the GTO.

I'm not sure about the SSR rear. That might be a 10 bolt 8.5" rear.

daved931 is right on. Are 8.5's are stronger then what most LS1's came with.

thats right, i forgot about the cars have a smaller ring gear... sob. well i guess il throw them in the trash...

There's always eBay or something.

I'm sure someone with an F-Body could use those parts. I hear that once you put some good tires under the back end of those cars, the 7.625 isn't long for this world.

You can make 'em live for a while running 12s behind an automatic, but it's kinda like polishing a turd... which will eventually explode. And nobody likes exploding polished turds, even if they're polished.
