15x10's on 2wd?
Is anyone running 15x10's with a 4.5" backspace on a stock 2wd 1983 truck? Not dropped or anything. Potentially these would be on an 83 suburban. I just don't know if something so wide will work on my burban or what it would look like.

They look good on the rear, dunno how they'll fit on the front tho.

they'll fit just fine, but you're a bit too far from the southern US border to put them on.

Re: 15x10's on 2wd?
thanks, I saw a really nice set on ebay. 8 wheels in a package, and wondered what they would look like up front. I knew the rears would be fine but wasn't sure about the front. thanks for the photos.

Holy cow, Fer 79, how did you end up with my truck? I mean yours is damn near identical to my old '79, down to the tint! Well, only yours is lowered, and your tires need some air

Re: 15x10's on 2wd?
so the guy from Mexico posts up pics of his truck with 10s all around!

though i have to say, it does look good, decent backspacing, good installed depth. unlike the 10s that stick out 4" past the fender that i was referring to in my previous post.

Re: 15x10's on 2wd?
I didn't want to start a new tread for this but I currently have 235/75/15 on my burban. I was wondering what harm would be done if I moved to a 255/75/17. On ebay there is a guy selling stock 2007 Jeep wheels (5x5) with new tires on them for $450. Sounds great but will it do any extra harm to my rear end?

Here are the differences
OLD NEW
Overall Diameter: 28.87 in 32.05 in
Sidewall Height: 6.93 in 7.52 in
Radius: 14.43 in 16.02 in
Circumference: 90.69 in 100.6 in
Revs per Mile: 720.4 648.9
Actual Speed: 60 mph 54.0 mph
Diameter Difference +9.9%

Re: 15x10's on 2wd?
a 32" tire will not do your trans any favors, even worse than with the pathetic rear end gears and stock tires. 82 and 83 are the worst years for the 700R4
