V6 in 1984 C10
I dont know much about C10s, so here goes.
My friend has an 84 C10, no motor or tranny. Great shape. Its a SCSB stepside. I am taking the 4.3L and TH400 out of my truck. Nearly brand new engine and good working tranny, so I dont want it to go to waste, so we want to slide it into the C10. Now, I know my truck uses special mount plates that move the mounts back behind the crossmember to make the V6 sit against the firewall like the V8 does. Does the 80s C10s have a similiar setup when using a V6? If so, where can I get them from? Thanks. ![]() 1993 Chevrolet C1500 - 1998 Chevrolet S10 - 2008 Honda Rancher |

84 might, 85 will, as that was the first year the 4.3 was available. even if it doesnt, its just a matter of drilling a couple of holes.

no, the 4.3 uses the same mounts as the 350. move them back, drill some holes, and call it good.
