engine suffix codes
ok i have searched the net with my blazeing fast dial up only to not finde my partial vin any were, its like my motor dosent exist. but i was wounderinf if some one could help me out it is in a 85 k10 but not the original motor i was told it was a crate engine (SBC). but any way the #'s are m-07-21-9vp and all i know is its a mexican motor made on july 21st but cant find the suffix code any were please help,and thanks.

Look on the front of the passenger side head, there should be a pad with some numbers on it.

sorry if i wasnt clear but, i know were they are how to decode and such. the number is posted in the first post, i just cant find what the motor belongs to again the number is m-07-21-9vp.

whats the casting number on the back of the block? if its actually a mexican block, its probably a crate.

Sorry bout that. Those motors were sold as crate motors, and warranty replacement motors for different years, so it doesn't really belong to anything. Other than that, if you wanted to find out more info on it, you could probably call a chevy dealership and they might be able to help you.

I thought crate motors had "CE" or an X somewhere in the suffix. ??
