She's gone...
well, i said goodbye to my '83 today. sadly, she's off to live with a new owner, but don't worry, i did a lot of research and i made sure she was going to a GREAT home, also invited him to FSC. i'm still in an FSC, don't worry...just not a classic anymore. it's a '91 K1500 Silverado extended cab. it's got a TBI 350 and a freshly rebuilt 700R4. rough body, but heck, it's mechanically GREAT...anyhow, i'm gonna miss the old girl, but i needed more room...
<---thanks 454SS!!

Re: She's gone...
welcome to the new XCAB owners club! so far, its just you and me, but im sure more will be needing more room in the future, and will be upgrading!

post up some pics! i havent been able to get any good ones of mine yet, it doesnt move, and is in a bad spot for pics. working on a trans swap right now, which turned into a motor swap after finding broken manifold bolts in the 240K heads. rather than pull the heads in the truck to have it adressed, i tore down the engine from my 93, added a new cam and lifters, timing chain, and all new gaskets. hopefully it'll be in tomorrow!

Re: She's gone...
here's a few pics. don't laugh too hard, i know it's not a looker. but, see, that's where it differs from the GMC. the GMC was a looker, but needed tons of mechanical work...this one needs VERY little mechanical work, and just body work basically. it also has mismatched wheels...i already have a line on some wheels though...

yea, i like this new truck, but man i thought i was gonna cry when i had to watch 'ol girl pull away...

I still haven't ruled an xcab out as a possible next vehicle since theres the little one due in February. I told Angel I was gonna strap the baby seat into the passenger seat and make her ride in the bed. For some reason she didn't like that idea.

Re: She's gone...
yea, Kenny, you might have to actually WORK on it to get it fixed. John, i love your truck, but an extended cab would suit you a lot better at this time in your life...

Oh well time to move on I guess. As cool as the 73-87s were, you'll see how much improvment went into 88-98s. Looks like a pretty good start to me. What options does it have? (I personally have started with much worse) I think there maybe some guys that could help you get her fixed up. Heck, I think theres a place online where a bunch of said degenerates hang out....wait...nevermind

oh i know, this is my 3rd OBS. as far as options? it has power windows and locks, AM/FM stereo with cassette and equalizer, A/C, 4x4, sliding rear window, underhood light package...it doesn't have EVERY option but it's got a decent array...i just wanna get the body work handled and get some paint on it, then i'll be pretty happy...

no thank you. if it were dark blue and yellow, we could also fly the Mountaineer flag. i'd be better off painting it black and gold though... BOILER UP!
